Ninety days to the day!!!!!!

Hi everyone!......Hope everyone had a great week!  Sorry no pics again this week......

Our shipment finally arrived on Thursday and I have been busy unpacking 19 boxes.........It felt like Christmas opening all those boxes.....We are very grateful to have everything now.....John put his bike together and has already gone out 2x's riding along the river......His bike and golf clubs arrived unscathed!
The surfboard also arrived intact!!!!!!!!

I started golf lessons at Burswood Country Club. It is on the other side of the Swan River.  So far, so
good....I have not hit anyone with a golf ball or golf club......I have been to the Driving range 2x's and I
really like sending that ball sailing down the fairway..........................LOOK OUT NANO........
I have also gotten addicted to chai latte's -

Not much else is going on........John loves his work and is very excited about putting in a
70 kilometer pipeline in ONSLOW.......WA (Western Australia) is a beautiful part of Australia and
WA stands for WAIT AWHILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and that is exactly what you do for everything.........
People told us that in the very beginnning and they were not kidding.........You wait and wait and wait.....
Life is definitely slow and easy and no ones feathers get ruffled..........What a concept.......

Gotta run for now.....Making eggplant parm for dinner and I am still getting used to the oven.
Convection ovens are big here.........Learning something new EVERYDAY!!!!!!

Have a terrific week and stay safe!

Much love,
John and Sharon

A SOMBER WEEK-END IN AUSTRAILIA

John and I hope that everyone had a terrific week! Unfortuantely, no pictures this week-end either..Sorry!

We spent a very low-key week-end. We spent Saturday evening looking at the biggest, brightest,
fullest moon I have ever seen. It was beautiful!  The air was so crisp and the temperature was in the
50's - this is the beginning of Spring here!  Sunday was a very quiet day. We watched a little football....
LSU - GEAUX TIGERS...  and then we went for a long walk along the Swan River and stopped
at our favorite cafe, Toast, for a chai latte and a cappuchino......

At 3:00, a tree planting ceremony was held in Queen's Park for the victims of 9/11. What a beautiful
day......mid 60's all day!  At 5:00, a Choral Evensong was held at St George's Cathedral - Anglican
Diocese of Perth. Several dignitaries were in attendance....Sue Ellery MLC - Representative for the
Leader of the Opposition, Aleisha Woodward - U.S. Consul General in Perth, Lisa Scaffidi - The Right
Honourable The Lord Mayor of Perth, His Excellency Malcolm McCusker - Govenor of Western
Australia and The Honourable Colin Barnett MLA - Premier of Western Australia.  It was a very
moving ceremony. A commemorative wreath of rosemary (for remembrance), white lilies (for the
Resurrection), and olive leaves (for peace) was placed at the foot of the altar by the U.S. Consul
General.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful week.....Stay safe!

Much love,
John and Sharon

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME USA FOOTBALL

HAPPY LABOR DAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!! AND GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John and I hope that everyone has a safe, fun and wonderful Labor Day! - Australia does not recognize
Labor Day here, so JT has to work :( :(

We had a wonderful week-end - We went to a very nice Italian restaurant in Perth on Friday
evening. We met a couple from Baton Rouge, who are LSU alumni, and we talked football all night!!!!!
Doug is a drilling engineer and works on Barrier Island. - it was great to talk LSU football......

Our Saturday was very low-key. Acutally, we made sure that it was so we would not miss our
Tigers on Sunday. What a SIGH OF RELIEF AND A WONDERFUL SURPRISE......
At 8:00am on Sunday morning, ESPN (the network of the sports gods~) came through for us
and we saw LSU LIVE.........................on the other side of the world....................We both cried!
Instead  of our normal queso, chips, beenie weenies and fajitas, JT and I had breakfast - Next time,

instead of just cappuchino and chai latte's, I'm  making Mimosa's - What an awesome game! - It is amazing, that after a week of extreme turbulence, disruption within the team and uncertainty, our TIGERS, once again, rose to the occasion. GEAUX TIGERS AND GEAUX LEE - You looked great even on the other side of the world! The biggest void John and I felt was not being at home with "our kids" and speed dialing with Nicole throughout the game. I truly missed being able to RUN PLAY BY PLAYS WITH MY PEARLYMAE! - Sorry no pics this blog.......Next time, I promise.

Have a wonderful Labor Day and a wonderful week! Miss you all very much.

With our love,
John and Sharon
